Opening ZIP files
Some products are supplied in ZIP folders to keep multiple files together.
Most computers and mobile devices can open ZIP files without additional software. Download the ZIP folder first, then choose Extract, Unzip, or Open.
On some mobile devices, you may need to save the ZIP file to the Files app before opening it.
File sizes and resolution
All Chic Designs Digital files are supplied at 300 DPI.
Digital papers are normally:
- 3600 × 3600 px
- 12 × 12 inches
- JPG format
Craft clipart is normally:
- Transparent PNG format
- Approximately 2000 px on the longest side
Sublimation clipart and ready-made designs are supplied as larger PNG files. Exact dimensions are shown on each product page.
Resize an image
You can reduce the pixel dimensions of papers, clipart, and other files using Adobe’s free image-resizing tool.
Reducing a file usually works well. Enlarging a smaller file may reduce image quality, so use a larger sublimation file when creating larger printed products.

Convert a file
You can convert JPG and PNG files into other common formats using Adobe’s free image converter.
Please note that JPG files do not support transparent backgrounds. Converting a transparent PNG to JPG will replace the transparent area with a solid background.

Remove a background
Many clipart files are already supplied as transparent PNGs.
Where needed, you can use Adobe’s free background-removal tool.

Reduce a large file
Large image files may take longer to download, store, or open on some devices.
You can reduce the file size using a free compression tool:
- Compress PNG files: https://compresspng.com/
- Compress JPG/JPEG files: https://compressjpeg.com/
Compression can slightly reduce image quality, especially if used heavily. For printing, check the finished file before producing a large quantity.
One useful distinction to keep:
- Resize changes the pixel dimensions.
- Compress reduces the file size, usually while keeping the same dimensions.
Printing digital papers
For full-size 12 × 12 inch paper, print the file at 100% scale.
For smaller paper sizes, select Fit to page or reduce the print percentage in your printer settings.
Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen, printer, ink, paper, and print settings. Test printing is recommended before producing a large quantity.
Seamless digital papers
Products described as seamless digital papers are designed to repeat continuously.
Decorative papers, junk journal pages, textures, and other products may not be seamless unless the product page specifically says they are.
